Description:

“The mightiest shout, you’ll ever hear…
Fills mine enemies,so full of fear.
With this great hammer, I will crush…
All mine enemies, O what a rush!
And when it’s over, I’ll raise this up!
And with one hit, make earth erupt.”

They’ll sing me praises. They will cheer!
But if they don’t, Skullcrusher will smash
the unbelievers, to smoking ash.
All this rage, that I’ve built up

SKULLCRUSHER
Skullcrusher is an enormous warhammer forged entirely from iron with a strange purple tint. A grinning skull is etched into the surface of the hammer’s head.
Nonlegacy Game Statistics: Large 1 warhammer; Damage 2d61; Critical x3; Cost 2,324 gp; Weight 10 lb. Skullcrusher is a Large weapon. Any creature who touches Skullcrusher that is not of the Taim blood line will take 1 hp burning damage per round as long as they are touching it. A Medium creature can wield the hammer with two hands with a -2 penalty on attack rolls. Small creatures cannot use the hammer without some special ability to wield Large weapons.
Omen: When Skullcrusher strikes the ground it creates a tremor that extends in a 20 foot radius around the point of impact. Small chairs or lamps will fall over and windows will break. It is considered a trip attack to all creatures caught within the area of effect (and standing on the ground of course). The wielder rolls one Strength check and all the targets must oppose that one roll. (see Trip, PHB p158) Using the Tremor ability provokes an attack of opportunity.
HISTORY
Skullcrusher was forged by the Brightkiln dwarves in 1127 A.K. out of a strange metal alloy. It was made as a gift for a human. His name was Rylos Taim and he was the leader of an adventuring group called Heroes of the Rising Storm. They prevented the annihilation of the Brightkiln clan and received the gift from their finest craftsmen, Gravel Brightkiln. Since then, Skullcrusher
has been passed down through the generations of the human Taim family.
Soon after Rylos began using Skullcrusher the warhammer became sentient. It is theorized that the dwarves mixed iron ore with magitite to create the
strange alloy. It somehow imbued the item with life or so Rylos claimed. The man would frequently talk with the weapon and even compliment it for good hits while in battle. The dwarves created Skullcrusher in a large size because Rylos himself was of large size. He had an enlarge person spell with permanency cast upon him.
After the Kinsean Wars the few dwarves that survived fled to the mountains and to the underdark. The Drow took advantage of the dwarves depleted numbers and mounted an offensive to completely eliminate the race from the underdark. The Brightkiln Clan gave Skullcrusher to Rylos and the Heroes of the Rising Storm. The group went on a secretive mission which resulted in a Drow civil war and in turn saved the dwarves.
